Refund Policy

This policy explains how refunds work for DCFN - Patents. Read the Terms of Service in parallel. DCFN - Patents is offered for evaluation through Try-It (free) and for ongoing use through a Non-Exclusive Field License or an Enclave deployment.
1. Try-It evaluation is free
Try-It access is a one-time request-to-try grant of a limited number of free runs. It involves no payment, so there is nothing to refund. There is no self-serve purchase, subscription, or run-pack.
2. Failed runs are automatically refunded to your run grant
When a portfolio run fails because of upstream infrastructure — Anthropic API outage, Google BigQuery timeout, Cloud Run instance failure, or any other engine dependency degradation that prevents the run from completing — the consumed run is automatically refunded to your Try-It run grant. No customer action is required.
This refund is in run-count: your consumed counter is decremented so the run becomes available again.
Per the engine changelog (v1.0.26): when the AI substrate (Anthropic Claude) is degraded, the engine fails clean rather than silently substituting a lower-capability model. You receive nothing rather than a degraded artifact, and your run is refunded.
3. Field licenses and enclave deployments
Fees under a Non-Exclusive Field License or an Enclave Deployment Agreement, and any refund or termination terms for them, are negotiated per contract and governed by the specific terms of that agreement, not this policy. If you are operating under such an agreement, refer to its refund/termination clause and contact your account manager. See the Licensing Guide Enclave section for the partnership framework.
4. Refund mechanics
Where a licensed or enclave engagement involves a fee, any approved monetary refund is issued via Stripe back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, subject to that agreement's terms. Automatic run-count refunds (Section 2) are reflected immediately in your run balance.
