Refund Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
This policy explains the limited circumstances under which DCFN - Patents issues refunds. Read the Terms of Service in parallel — those terms govern your underlying purchase, and this policy refines the refund question specifically.
1. Monetary refunds are only issued for accidental duplicate orders
Run-pack purchases (Solo Trial, Squad Run, Starter, Standard, Pro) and initial signup payments are flat 12-month commitments. Once paid, the run capacity and 12-month access window are immediately credited to your firm's pool.
The single circumstance under which Living Eden Frameworks LLC will issue a monetary refund is an accidental duplicate order — for example, where a customer charges the same run-pack twice within a short window believing the first purchase did not complete. To request a refund for a duplicate, email billing@livingedenframeworks.com within 14 days of the duplicate charge with the Stripe charge IDs of both transactions. We will refund the second charge in full once the duplicate is confirmed.
Refund requests for any reason other than a confirmed accidental duplicate — including changed-your-mind, didn't-use-it, found-a-competitor, results-not-as-expected — are not eligible. The artifact you receive is the engine output; the engine is the product. We do not refund for output you don't like.
2. Cancellation behavior
Cancellation does not trigger a refund. Mid-cycle cancellation preserves your access and current runs through the natural end of the 12-month cycle — the cycle does not renew, but unused runs remain available until that anniversary date. After the cycle ends, the account stays active indefinitely; self-serve account deletion is the user-initiated path to remove all account data (forthcoming, see Section 7).
Mid-cycle top-up purchases (additional run-packs purchased during an active 12-month window) are subject to the same cancellation posture: the runs added by the top-up remain available through the cycle's natural end. No portion of a top-up is refunded on cancellation.
3. Failed runs are automatically refunded to your pool
When a portfolio run fails because of upstream infrastructure — Anthropic API outage, Google BigQuery timeout, Cloud Run instance failure, or any other engine dependency degradation that prevents the run from completing — the consumed run is automatically refunded to your firm's run pool. No customer action is required.
This refund is in run-count, not dollars: your run pool's consumed counter is decremented so the run becomes available again. We don't issue separate dollar refunds for failed runs because runs are not billed individually — they're deducted from a paid run-pack.
Per the engine changelog (v1.0.26): when the AI substrate (Anthropic Claude) is degraded, the engine fails clean rather than silently substituting a lower-capability model. You receive nothing rather than a degraded artifact, and your run is refunded.
4. Launch-program free runs do not affect refund eligibility
If your account redeemed a launch-program discount code at signup, the free runs granted by that code do not create a refund obligation if they are not used. Free runs expire when your 12-month access window closes or when your firm's account is dissolved, whichever comes first.
5. Route 6 Private Enclave JDA partnerships
Refund terms for Route 6 Private Enclave JDA partnerships are negotiated per contract and governed by the specific terms of that agreement, not this policy. If you are operating under a JDA, refer to your contract's refund clause and contact your account manager. See the Licensing Guide Route 6 section for the partnership framework.
6. Refund mechanics
Approved monetary refunds are issued via Stripe back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Automatic run-count refunds (Section 3) are reflected immediately in your firm's pool counter at /firm/manage.
